We are Expanding!

12 January 2012

More families than ever are now being helped by our telephone consultation service.

More families than ever are now being helped by our telephone consultation service. Parents who are concerned about the emotional wellbeing of their child can use this service to contact the Anna Freud Centre and have a thirty minute consultation with a fully trained mental health professional. This service is now available to parents to support their child’s wellbeing from birth to age 18, where this was previously only to help children aged over 5.

Emma Keaveny from the Family Support Services is happy to report that: “almost 20% of our calls are now by parents of children under 5"

Our professionals work to help and support new parents who have concerns about their child’s development or any other parenting issues. Where further help beyond the telephone consultation is needed the parents will be given guidance on suitable follow on services and how to access them. This expansion of our Family Support Service is only possible due the generous support of John Lyon’s Charity, the Priory Foundation, the Bonita Trust, the Child in Mind Committee and many individual donors. For further information on the services we offer at the Anna Freud Centre or to arrange a consultation please visit the services pages on our website.
