Chair of Trustees
Michael Samuel has been Chairman of the Anna Freud Centre for the past 12 years. He is also Chair of Full Fact, a non-profit organisation that campaigns for accuracy with politics and the political press.
Additionally he runs five family charitable trusts.
Michael was Chief Executive of Mayborn Group plc from 1980 to 2006 when he sold it in a private equity deal. He is married with four children and lives between London and Somerset.
Dr. Linda Mayes is the Arnold Gesell Professor of Child Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and Psychology at the Yale Child Study Center, Special Advisor to the Dean, Yale School of Medicine, and a member of the Directorial Team of the Anna Freud Centre. She joined the Child Study Center’s faculty in 1985 and established a laboratory for studying infant learning and attention and a neurophysiology laboratory. She has published widely in developmental psychology, paediatrics, and child psychiatry literature. Linda is also a visiting professor at Sewanee, The University of the South and at University College London. She is the Co-ordinator of a collaborative masters training program between Yale and University College London. She is also a child and adult psychoanalyst and a member of the faculty of the Western New England Institute for Psychoanalysis. Linda lives in Connecticut.
Professor John Cape
John Cape is Head of Psychological Therapies at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust and Visiting Professor at University College London. He trained as a clinical psychologist and has worked as a clinician and manager of psychological therapy services in the NHS for over 30 years. He has longstanding clinical and research interests in primary care mental health and in the organisation and development of psychological therapy services between primary and secondary care.
Peter Oppenheimer is chief global equity strategist and head of ECS (Economics, Commodities and Strategy) Research in Europe at Goldman Sachs. Peter joined Goldman Sachs in 2002 following previous posts at HSBC, James Capel, Hambros Bank and Greenwells. Peter is a trustee of the Anne Frank Trust UK. Peter also serves on the London School of Economics Investment Committee.
Daniel Peltz is Chief Executive of London Freeholds Plc, a company he founded in 2002 following a career in property and asset management with companies including GUS Plc and The British Land Company.
His other interests include being a Member of the International Council of Tate, Chairman of Technion (UK) and a member of its’ Board of Governors, Trustee of City of London School Bursary Trust, Treasurer of Institute of Jewish Studies and a member of King’s College Development Board. He also sits on both the Finance and Estates Committees of the Marylebone Cricket Club. He is a fellow of King’s College London University.
Ruby Wax is a comedian and writer who, after three decades working on stage, TV and radio has recently completed both a Psychotherapy Diploma and a Masters Degreee in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Oxford University. As well as writing and speaking widely on the subject of mental illness, she presents communication workshops for corporate leaders and has also founded a social networking site providing information about and social support for people suffering with mental health issues.
