MSc in Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology

brain scanThis is a highly selective 2-year UCL international Masters programme, with the first year based at University College London and the second year based at Yale, New Haven in the USA. Typically 10 students are accepted each year. This unique programme equips students with a practical understanding of neuroscience research, a broad theoretical model of child development and multiple perspectives on developmental disorders such as autism, anxiety and conduct disorder. Students are trained in how to conduct independent empirical research, and complete a substantial empirical research project in the second year while in the USA, under the supervision of a Yale University mentor. A combination of lecture and seminar based teaching spanning the fields of developmental psychology, neuroscience, psychoanalysis and research methodology - in two world renowned institutions - provides a unique foundation for undertaking a subsequent PhD or as a precursor for clinical training.
