Events

Serving on our Events Committee

This involves attending regular meetings at the Anna Freud Centre and helping to organise events including our annual Open Afternoon (September) and any other events the group decide to organise.

Open Afternoon

You can help us in the following ways:

Planning: Helping us to plan the event by joining our Events Committee

Running a stall or activity: Taking complete ownership of a stall or activity

Preparation for event: Giving up a morning or afternoon of your time during the weeks before the event to help us prepare equipment for the stalls and publicising the event (Mon-Fri, 09:00-17:00).

Donations: We need cakes, raffle prizes, arts and crafts activities, outdoor toys and other equipment to use on the day

On the day: Helping on a stall or as a steward, coming along and bringing friends and family

If you have particular contacts or expertise that you think could be put to specific use please get in touch.

Organising your own events

If you are interested in organising fundraising events on your own e.g. a dinner, talk or musical event in your own home or a lunch event at a restaurant, we would be very happy to talk to you about this.  We can provide fundraising materials for these events.

We are happy to work with schools, universities and work places if they are interested in organising fundraising events.  If you would like to volunteer in this way, please get in touch.

Office-Based Opportunities

If you are interested in getting some office-based experience in the charity sector, do get in touch. Some of the tasks we need help with include:

• Helping with mailings
• Typing up feedback from courses and conferences
• Putting together fundraising packs or conference packs
• Data entry (training in our database would be given)
• Helping with ad hoc filing or research tasks

If you are interested in any of the office based opportunities please get in touch. We do only have a limited capacity for office volunteers, but if we do not have any opportunities when you contact us we will note your interest and contact you as opportunities arise.
