7th December 2017 By: Hannah Evans

From 1st September 2017 Professor Eamon McCrory is stepping down as Programme Director of the MRes in Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology; he will however remain as Director of Postgraduate studies at the Centre. We are delighted that Dr Nikolaus Steinbeis has been appointed as the new Programme Director for the MRes.

Nikolaus did his PhD in 2008 at the Max-Planck Institute for Human Cognitive Brain Sciences in Leipzig. He then joined the University of Zurich looking at social development and its neural underpinnings. After returning to the Max-Planck Institute as a senior researcher and then a group leader, he joined the University of Leiden in 2015 as Assistant Professor for Developmental Psychology and Neuroscience. Nikolaus’s research focuses on the development of behavioural control and why it is so useful for positive psychological development. He uses training and enrichment paradigms to study sensitive periods in behavioural control development. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the UCL Division of Psychology and Language Sciences.
