Normative Parent-Infant Project Research Assistant (unpaid position)

2 days a week, 6 months position  (shorter positions would be considered. A minimum of 3 months is required)

The opportunity has arisen for one voluntary research assistant post for the Normative Parent-Infant Project at Anna Freud Centre.

The Normative Parent-Infant Project is a longitudinal study aimed at investigating the quality of the parent-infant relationship and the infants’ social and emotional development during the first year of life. Mothers and infants under the age of 12 months have been recruited from a normative, socially excluded population within certain areas in London and invited to take part in three assessments over the course of the year (at baseline, 6 months and 12 months follow-up). The purpose of the study is to compare several aspects of parental mental health, parent-infant attachment relationship and infant development in a community-based sample with the data collected as part of a parallel study involving a clinical population.

The successful candidate will play a key role by carrying out a broad range of duties involved in the Normative Parent-Infant Project and they will also have the opportunity to extend their experience in research and in the administration of several assessment procedures.  We are looking for someone who is highly organised and self motivated.

The ability to work independently, excellent communication and time management skills are all also vital.

The post will be based at Anna Freud Centre (12 Maresfield Gardens, London, NW3 5SU).

Please name your application form as follows:  (your) surname, first name NPIPRA-AF i.e. Smith, John NPIPRA-AF. Thank you.
