Our Help for Children & Families

We offer a range of specialist interventions and resources that focus on supporting families.

  • Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI)

CFTSI is a time-limited intervention provided shortly after difficult or upsetting events in order to prevent later problems developing.

  • Early Years Parenting Unit

This service works with parents with personality difficulties and their under five children who are subject to a Child in Need or Child Protection plan, or who are on the edge of care.

  • Multi-Family Groups in Schools

We offer multi-family groups in schools for children with behavioural or emotional difficulties and their families. The groups are run jointly by mental health and school professionals.

  • Parent Infant Project

Having a baby is often a happy occasion but can sometimes be surprisingly difficult. This service works together with you and your baby to help you think about the feelings you both have.

  • Parent Toddler Group

This service is for families with toddlers between 1-3 years old. We aim to build the relationship between you and your toddler and to support your toddler’s development through talk and play.

  • Parenting Groups

This service runs groups to assist parents with managing their child’s difficult or concerning behaviour, to provide strategies for helping their child understand and manage their emotions, and to improve the quality of the parent-child relationship.

  • Schools Outreach Therapy Service

This school-based service is for children, young people and their families whose behavioural and emotional difficulties are impacting on their ability to learn. We offer highly accessible, non-stigmatising, therapeutic support.

  • SmartGym

Our resilience training programme 'SmartGym' is an exciting technology-enabled model which teaches core life skills to young people struggling with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.
