Michael Samuel MBE, Chair of Trustees

Michael Samuel MBE has been a Trustee of the AFNCCF for almost 20 years and is the Chair.  He is also a trustee of Helpforce (a charity encouraging volunteering in the NHS) and co-founder of Civic, a movement to accelerate change in communities, by bringing resources together and combining strengths.  Michael manages five family Charitable Trusts and is Chair and joint founder of Full Fact, a charity that campaigns for accuracy within politics and the political press. Michael has many other philanthropic interests, ranging from Prospect Burma, a charity involved in the education of students in Myanmar (formerly Burma) to the Somerset Community Foundation. He is director of a number of companies and Chairman of Muddy Puddles, a children’s outdoor clothing company. Previously, Michael was Chief Executive of Mayborn Group plc and Chairman of AGL, an unconventional communications agency. In the New Years Honours list 2020, Michael was awarded an MBE in recognition for his services to young people and to mental health. He is married with four adult children and lives between London and Somerset.
