Crisis teams and borderline personality disorder (BPD)
Emerging evidence – there isn’t much evidence on this treatment option yet, but the research that has been carried out suggests that it could be helpful.
Crisis teams (sometimes called Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Teams) become involved if you are at increased risk of harming yourself, and/or have a short term need for more intensive support.
Crisis teams are often used as an alternative to admission to hospital. Crisis Teams are not a specific treatment for BPD, but a way of giving you and your family extra support during difficult times.
