Bradford Rape Crisis & Sexual Abuse Survivors Service (BRC&SASS)
Service Description
Supporting women and girls who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives.
Bradford Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Survivors Service is a feminist organisation run by women for women and girls. We provide support services which are free, independent and confidential.
We recognise that rape and sexual abuse are gendered crimes with the majority of survivors of sexual violence being women and children, and the majority of perpetrators being men. We acknowledge the power imbalance between men and women that allows sexual abuse to happen.
We also recognise that other forms of inequality play a part in sexual abuse, such as class, race, disability, sexuality and age.
We support girls and young women, usually 13 years old and above, as well as adult women who have experienced any type of sexual abuse at any time in their lives i.e. very recently or some years ago.
We provide a range of support including a telephone and text help line, after school groups, support sessions in schools, counselling, advocacy & support for girls and young women if you need to report abuse or someone else has already reported the abuse e.g. with the police, social services and education.
