Joyful Hearts

Service Description

I am a Specialist teen & kids yoga therapist, certified to teach young people about anatomy, socio-psychology, physiology and emerging neuroscience.

I am passionate about empowering young people through targeted yoga and mindfulness in an educational setting to achieve school aims, such as preparing mindsets in readiness for exams or transition; to raise students awareness of self, others & the world we live in; to identify and honour individual key strengths and characteristics; ultimately a Joyful Hearts class give students a place to simply ‘be’ themselves and learn how to cultivate calm and peacefulness from within through greater efficacy of breath-movement-mindfulness; to achieve a more balanced lifestyle: physically, emotionally, mentally, socially & spiritually.

Each term and across key stage developments 1-5, my lessons appropriately dovetail with the UK’s national PSHE curriculum, designed to enhance student learning in new and creative ways.

Topics for younger pupils explore the human anatomy and how their body systems work; and more importantly the body-mind connection using the efficacy of the breath. As they grow we study the changes of the tween/teenage brain and what to expect during puberty - that a regular mindful yoga practice can support, to help manage overwhelming emotions in any given moment - building personal resilience and boosting self esteem.

Joyful Hearts classes are set in a calm, relaxed environment within a school setting giving young people an opportunity to just ‘be’ themselves.
