Dr Emily Stapley

Dr Emily Stapley - Senior Research Fellow at the Evidence Based Practice Unit

Emily is a Senior Research Fellow in the Evidence Based Practice Unit (EBPU), based across University College London (UCL) and the Anna Freud Centre. 

Emily leads on the qualitative research strand of the Education for Wellbeing Programme, examining school staff and pupils’ perspectives on delivering and taking part in interventions aiming to promote mental wellbeing.

Emily also leads on the qualitative research strand of the HeadStart National Evaluation, examining young people’s perspectives on mental wellbeing and coping with difficulties in life. Emily’s research interests lie in young people’s mental health, parenting, and interventions promoting mental health and wellbeing. Emily completed her PhD at UCL, which qualitatively explored parents’ experiences of responding to and coping with their teenage child’s depression over a two-year period, beginning with their child’s diagnosis of depression at child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS).
