    About this webinar

For many years, there has been a focus on developing Speech, language, and communication skills of children in the early years. Recent debates have focused on developing Oracy skills to improve the life chances of children, which is important to consider given that social inequalities have become more entrenched since the Covid-19 pandemic. Prior to and following the pandemic, there are increasing numbers of children who require intervention to develop their speech, language, and communication skills.

In this webinar, we have a panel of speakers who will help to challenge and develop our thinking about the standards of language we strive for children to achieve. There will be a focus on thinking about children from a wide range of racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as children who acquire and use communication skills differently.
