  • DIT North-West Network

The DIT NW Network first began to meet informally in December 2012.  It exists to allow training and practising DIT practitioners to raise the profile of DIT in the North West Region, including Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Cheshire and Cumbria. The group aims to support each other during training and accreditation, share information and eventually provide peer supervision. There is the potential for other activities such as organising training events. The most accessible DIT trainings to the NW are Leeds and Edinburgh as well as London.

The network is for all clinicians who have completed the initial week-long training and are seeing training cases or are accredited as DIT practitioners. There is currently a core group of around 13 members, at least one of whom is a qualified DIT Supervisor. This number is expected to grow as more psychological therapists undergo training.  We are Clinical Psychologists, Counsellors and Psychotherapists working in a variety of Primary Care, Psychology or IAPT services in the Region. As a growing number of members become qualified, we expect the group to evolve to meet the changing needs of both the members and the provision of DIT in the North West.

The Network has been meeting every six months at the Prestwich site of Greater Manchester West MHNHS FT, close to Junction 17 of the M62. The meetings are currently informal, run collectively and all those eligible are most welcome.
