About this course
The Anna Freud Centre is launching a year-long free programme of public seminars and inviting all to join us as we contemplate the future of children and young people’s mental health. The Transformation Seminars is an inaugural series of free lectures open to the public to celebrate the Anna Freud’s Centre’s new building, the Kantor Centre of Excellence (N1 9JH) and ask some of the most eminent names in mental health what would most contribute to a transformation of our approach to mental health.

About this seminar
Anxiety and depression are holding millions of people back in life. Despite this, for half a century, treatments have hardly progressed. They are accessed by the minority, do not help everyone and we know little about what works for whom. Mental Health Science is decades behind in developing a new generation of treatments and approaches to address these issues.
In 2018, the Wellcome Trust announced its new £200 million ten-year priority mental health programme that will take a bold new approach to tackle this. The mission: find the next generation of treatments and approaches to prevent, intervene, manage and stop relapse of anxiety and depression in young people.
Join Professor Miranda Wolpert, Head of the Mental Health Priority Area, as she presents the recently announced strategy for the first five years of the programme, and how you can get involved.
The format of our Transformation Seminars are:
17:15 - 17:30 Registration
17:30 - 18:15 Transformation Lecture
18:15 - 18:45 Q&A
