About this course
The course focuses on monitoring the impact of mental health and wellbeing interventions and support in schools and colleges.
It will prepare participants to design and implement an evaluative approach that is rigorous, robust and feasible.
The course will cover:
- simple logic models for school or college-based mental health support and interventions
- measurement tools
- implementation considerations
- analysing and interpreting data.
Participants will be able to demonstrate the impact of the support they provide for internal evaluation and external accountability.

Staff in schools and colleges who support mental health and wellbeing including:
SMHLs
SENDCOs
pastoral support teams.
Learning outcomes
Participants will learn:
- the benefits of using standardised measurement tools to monitor interventions and measure impact
- how to use a logic model to inform evaluation and monitoring of a mental health intervention
- how to select measurement questionnaires to measure specific outcomes
- practical considerations in monitoring the impact of mental health interventions in education settings
- to interpret measurement questionnaire data to understand the impact of an intervention.
