Adrienne Burgess

Fatherhood Institute

Adrienne Burgess (Joint CEO and Head of Research at the Fatherhood Institute) has written widely on fatherhood and on couple relationships. Her book Fatherhood Reclaimed:  the making of the modern father (Vermilion, 1997) helped set a new agenda on fatherhood in the UK and was published in translation across the world. For the Fatherhood Institute, Adrienne has authored and co-authored many research summaries and practice guides on working with different types of fathers.  Adrienne talks and trains on fatherhood all over the world. She also manages and co-authors reports (with policy and practice recommendations) from the most comprehensive review of UK research on fathers and fatherhood ever undertaken: Contemporary Fathers in the UK:  what do we know?  what do we need to know?  This series of reports has been, and is, funded by the Nuffield Foundation from 2014 to the present day.
