Overview
Sophie is a School Engagement Trainer at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children & Families. She is an HCPC registered Educational Psychologist and regularly conducts private assessments with child in the York Educational Assessment Clinic referred by parents, schools and local CAMHS. She also has a postgraduate certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for children and young people from the AFNCCF. Sophie is also a lecturer in the Psychology Department at the University of York and leads modules on the assessment and treatment of developmental disorders within the MSc in Developmental Disorders and Clinical Practice course. She plays a key role in promoting student wellbeing and supporting mental health for both staff and pupils within the department. As well as this, Sophie works with the University of Hong Kong training teachers on best practice from the UK in supporting children with special educational needs and mental health difficulties using whole school strategies.
