Sarah Fisher

A single adoptive mum, passionate about helping other families who are experiencing difficulties. Sarah adopted a gorgeous seven-year-old boy and together they have been on a journey of discovery. Sarah states that “it has not been an easy road, more of a roller coaster, but I am so glad I chose to adopt, and I would not turn the clock back for anything”.

Sarah has learnt the hard way about the need to parent in a non-traditional way that is therapeutic. She is qualified in Non-Violent Resistance (NVR), a relationship-based approach to parenting that can help all families and it changed her family dynamic completely. She is passionate about NVR and teaches to parents and carers supporting them to implement it, and also provides training to other professionals working with families.

Sarah is the author of 2 books: Adopting Solo and Connective Parenting: Helping parents and children connect.
