Overview

Jill Hodges, PhD, is Honorary Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist in the Department of Psychological Medicine, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children, and Senior Research Fellow at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families.

She trained in psychoanalytic child psychotherapy at the Centre, where she has taught and supervised; currently, her AFNCCF roles are in research and in professional training on the Story Stem Assessment Profile. Since the 1970’s her research, clinical work and publications have focused on the areas of attachment, adoption, and the effects of institutional upbringing and of maltreatment upon children's subsequent development.
