Overview

I started in the NHS as a nurse and enjoyed caring, supporting and being with people in their time of need. I apply the same values now in my strategic commissioning and planning role. I work with colleagues across the partnership to improve the health and outcomes of children in the city. I am passionate about giving children the very best start in life and about tackling inequalities.  Whether developing new resources, pathways, care models or strategy, we must co-design and constantly evaluate with the population they are for. I am proud of the work we do as partners in the city; we’ve integrated our health visitors and children’s centres and community midwives are aligned with these teams.  We jointly commission the award winning Infant Mental Health Service with the council. I co-authored the Understanding Your Baby booklet and we have now digitalised this into the fabulous Baby Buddy app, working closely with Best Beginnings. This includes films of local parents and babies and the Leeds infant mental health service professionals.

Personal interests are yoga and mindfulness, growing fruit and vegetables and spending time with my family. I’ve also recently started learning Italian.
