Roberta Marshall

Overview

Roberta has been working with infants, young children and their families for over 30 years. As a Children’s Services Manager with Barnardo’s  she shares the organisation’s commitment to bring about better outcomes for more children with a focus on building stronger families, safer childhoods and positive futures. Alongside her degree in Early Years Education Roberta has also trained in various approaches and programmes. She is a Trainer of Trainer in the HighScope and Solihull Approaches and is a trained facilitator in the delivery of Roots of Empathy, Five to Thrive and Incredible Years (+ Babies) – she most recently completed training in Video Interactive Guidance (VIG) and Trauma Informed Practice. Roberta is passionate about getting the best start for every child and has been actively involved in Infant Mental Health networks in Northern Ireland for the past 10 years – she is currently Chairperson for the Association of Infant Mental Health (NI). In her current role Roberta is one of the leaders in a newly developed Strategic Partnership between South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, Barnardo’s, Parent Infant Foundation and Tiny Life, through this partnership the ABC PiP team provide a specialist IMH service to families alongside training, advice and support to the wider IMH workforce, throughout SEHSCT.

On a personal level Roberta has recently become a granny for the first time so is learning all about the emotional rollercoaster of the role of grandparents in promoting good infant (and parent) mental health!
