Mental Health Services and Schools and Colleges Link Programme (MHSSCLP)

We are delighted to have been commissioned by the Department for Education to deliver a ground-breaking initiative bringing together schools and colleges and Children and Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) to embed long term collaboration and integrated working.

Following a successful pilot in 2015/16, we worked with 23 new areas across England between September 2017 and March 2019 to improve joint working between education and mental health professionals.

Attendees came together for two full-day workshops to share expertise and develop a joint vision for CYP mental health and well-being in their locality. A total of 1,100 schools and colleges and 1,020 mental health professionals took part in the workshops and their learning was shared at a series of national events.

“We were able to gain an understanding of the working of other agencies and reach a common understanding of each other’s roles and capabilities.  A common agreement was reached about the need for sharing knowledge / training between services.” – Programme participant
