Mental Health Services and Schools Link programme (CASCADE)
We are delighted to have been commissioned by the Department for Education to deliver a ground-breaking initiative bringing together schools and colleges and Children and Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) to embed long term collaboration and integrated working.
Following a successful pilot in 2015/16, we have been working with 23 new areas across England to improve joint working between education and mental health professionals since September 2017.
Attendees come together for two full-day workshops to share expertise and develop a joint vision for CYP mental health and well-being in their locality. By November 2018, 1,100 schools and colleges and 1,000 mental health professionals will have taken part in the workshops. An evaluation report will be available in April 2019.
“We were able to gain an understanding of the working of other agencies and reach a common understanding of each other’s roles and capabilities. A common agreement was reached about the need for sharing knowledge / training between services.” – Programme participant
