Talking mental health with young people at secondary school (parents and carers)

As parents and carers, it can be hard to know whether your child's feelings and behaviour are normal or becoming a problem.

This free leaflet, developed by the Centre's child mental health experts and featuring an introduction from the Centre's Chief Executive, Professor Peter Fonagy, provides simple advice and guidance to parents and carers about how to make conversations about their child's feelings part of everyday conversation.

Parents and carers of primary school aged children can download our You're never too young to talk mental health leaflet here.

All parents and carers may find the following expert advice video about how to start conversations about mental health with young people useful.
