A new resource hub to support mental health in schools and colleges
Digital resources hub goes live online to increase support for mental health leads in schools and colleges across England.
A new online resource hub launches on the Mentally Healthy Schools site. Anna Freud, in partnership with and funded by the Department for Education, has collaborated with a range of education and mental health experts to produce this new library for mental health leads and other education staff.
The hub will support schools and colleges to embed and sustain a whole-school or college approach to mental health and wellbeing. It offers practical resources and tools from trusted organisations and training providers - all under one roof, further supporting mental health leads to continue to develop their role and better support the children and young people in their setting.
The hub has been designed in consultation with a wide range of sector and professional bodies to ensure it is suitable for different setting types and age ranges, distinguishing between the bespoke needs of a varied workforce.
David Johnston, Minister for Children, Families and Wellbeing said: “I know school staff want to do everything they can to promote and support the mental health of their pupils. That’s why I’m delighted to welcome this new resource hub developed by Anna Freud and funded by the Department for Education to help support the ongoing training of mental health leads in schools and colleges across England.”
Jaime Smith, Anna Freud’s Schools Division Director said: “We are delighted to launch this new digital resource hub for mental health leads, where practical resources to embed a whole-school or college approach to mental health and wellbeing can be found in one place. This hub makes it easier for school and college staff to find the information needed to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in their care, in line with the key principles of a whole-school or college approach.”
