Child Outcomes Research Consortium (CORC)

The Child Outcomes Research Consortium (CORC) brings together organisations and individuals committed to collecting and improving evidence to improve children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing. We are leading experts in measuring mental health outcomes.

Founded in 2002 by a group of mental health professionals determined to understand the impact of their work, today our network includes mental health providers, education settings, cultural and community services, local authorities, professional bodies and research institutions from across Europe and beyond.

We hold data relating to mental health and wellbeing outcomes of more than 400,000 children and young people in the UK. We support others to gather and understand their own data. We build expertise about using this information to improve support.

After many years of close collaboration, CORC became part of Anna Freud in 2022. For more information, please read our news piece.

About CORC

CORC’s vision is for all children and young people’s wellbeing support to be informed by real-world evidence so that every child thrives. We aim to promote the meaningful use of evidence to enable more effective child-centred support, services and systems to improve children’s mental health and wellbeing.

If you believe using evidence in a meaningful way can help make children’s mental health support more effective, responsive and focussed on outcomes, you can join the CORC Network

Outcomes and experience measures

We provide free downloadable measures, supporting information and guidance on use as an easily accessible resource for those looking to measure children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing. The measures include questionnaires you can fill in electronically, plus feedback and outcome measures for children and young people with learning disabilities.

CORC for Schools

We support education providers to understand the needs of their pupils and staff, and to monitor the impact of support they provide. For example, Wellbeing Measurement for Schools , a collaboration with the Evidence Based Practice Unit, provides online pupil and staff surveys. We help you to select the most appropriate monitoring and evaluation approach, measure the impact of specific interventions and can provide analysis and reporting to help you identify successes and challenges.
