Adoptive Families: Anna Freud National Centre launches new group intervention support

Are you an adoptive family? Are you struggling to meet your children’s needs? Do you feel like you have run out of resources? We are here to help.

The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families is offering a FREE evidence based, structured group intervention, run by experienced clinicians (consultant family therapist and clinical psychologist) with specialist expertise in working with adoptive families.  The therapeutic approach used (Multi-Family Therapy) offers families a space to develop helpful strategies, start new conversations, and develop new ways of interacting via play and activities.

It will run for seven sessions (with a break for summer) on Thursday evenings at the

St Pancras and Somers Town Community Centre (near Kings Cross). Interested families are initially invited to a ‘taster evening’ on where they can experience first-hand what the group is like and decide if they would like to join.

Testimony: “Being in the group has helped my family. It’s helped me to see my child from a different point of view.” – Parent

The ‘taster evening’ will run on June 29th, 2017 from 5:30 – 7:00 PM at St Pancras and Somers Town Community Centre

The group is an initial pilot, and whilst there is no charge, families will be asked for feedback on their experience of the group and asked to help us think how we might develop future groups.

Limited spaces are available. For more information,
