Centre gets the red carpet treatment at Leicester Sq awards ceremony

The Anna Freud Centre were present for the Mind Media Awards at the Odeon in Leicester Square this week after our Child in Mind podcast series made their 2017 shortlist.

The red-carpet event was presented by Fearne Cotton and was addressed by Stephen Fry and Prince Harry!

While we unfortunately did not take home the trophy, it was an incredible coup for the centre to be shortlisted at such a prestigious event alongside such media outlets as TalkSPORT, BBC Radio 4 and Radio 1Xtra who we congratulate on taking the top spot.

Out of the 50 finalists in all categories, we were the only charity that was shortlisted! It was quite something to see the logo of our charity projected up on the big screen competing on an equal footing against these high-profile broadcasters.

‘Child in Mind’ is a series of expert podcasts, presented by Claudia Hammond and produced by Marya Burgess for the Centre. They aim at helping parents understand and manage child and family mental health problems with issues discussed including self-harm and childhood anxiety. It was published on Soundcloud and you can listen to them right here.
