Mayor of Camden hosts festive carols fundraiser for Anna Freud National Centre

Last Tuesday, thanks to the support of the Camden Music Service, local Camden school pupils, the Camden Staff Choir and the Mayor of Camden, Councillor Nadia Shah, brought some festive spirit to London’s Euston station, with a programme of carolling to raise money for the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families.

Pupils from six schools across the borough, including the Torriano Primary and Camden School for Girls, donned Christmas attire for the fundraiser, and had the opportunity to meet with the Mayor of Camden. A fantastic £2113.55 was raised on the day, which saw commuters stop and join in with well-loved festive tunes and approach the Mayor of Camden and colleagues from the Anna Freud National Centre to find out about the work that we do.

Jenny Ricketts, Fundraising Manager at the Centre said: “We were delighted to join the Mayor of Camden, Councillor Nadia Shah, and local school pupils to sing festive carols at Euston station. We raised more than £2,000 for the Centre and it was brilliant to meet so many people interested in and generously supportive of our work to support children and young people’s mental health. We are also very grateful for the Mayor's ongoing dedication to the Centre’s activity as her chosen charity of the year.”

As part of this chosen charity partnership, we are working together to promote wider-reaching conversation around, and involvement with, mental health support and services for children and young people.
