The Guide booking page

You have been allocated to The Guide intervention.

The Guide is a mental health curriculum originally developed in Canada by psychiatrist Dr. Stanley Kutcher in collaboration with the Canadian Mental Health Association. The aim of the curriculum is to educate and raise awareness in young people about mental health and mental illness.

The training day will familiarise teachers with the psychoeducational content of six lesson plans:

  1. Stigma of mental illness

  2. Stress and the brain

  3. Understanding mental illnesses, part 1

  4. Understanding mental illnesses, part 2

  5. Support, treatment and recovery

  6. The importance of positive mental health

Six staff members can attend training for this.  They do not have to attend the same training.

The training is about 6 hours long with lunch and a morning and afternoon tea/coffee break provided. Due to the short turnaround a vegetarian lunch will be booked, if you have further dietary requirements please contact us but we may not be able to accommodate this due to the timeline requested from the venues. You will be sent further information once you have booked.

This training is free and available to those school part of the Education for Wellbeing trial only.
