About this webinar

The Anna Freud Family Trauma team’s new live webinar series provides expert practice insights into key clinical practice areas affecting families and children and young people. Parents and carers can find themselves under huge stress, and this can undermine their ability to think about and respond to what is going on for their children and reflect on their experiences. By providing parents with a space to take up a reflective mentalizing stance, the Reflective Parenting model introduces an approach to parenting that aims to strengthen family relationships and reduce parent-child conflicts. In turn children and young people have been shown to be better able to regulate their own emotions and develop their capacity to mentalize. This webinar will look at ways that professionals can support parents to self-mentalize and increase their confidence and connectedness with their children.
