Understanding and Responding to Neurodiversity for Leadership and Organisational Development
This multimodal training experience features co-produced content, including compelling videos, case studies and vignettes—all designed to inspire meaningful discussion and reflection. Grounded in research evidence and lived experience, the training provides an engaging, evidence-based learning journey.
About this training
This two-day training comprising of theory and practical applications will equip you with a comprehensive understanding of autism, adhd, dyspraxia and learning differences in the workplace.
Throughout the sessions, you’ll engage in group discussions to explore diverse roles, identify common challenges, and gain deeper insight into the needs of those you support. The training will introduce key theoretical frameworks to guide your development.
Crucially, the course will also encourage empathy by prompting reflection on how your own values, beliefs, and behaviours influence your interactions with others.
Aims of this training
This training will provide you with:
A practical and ethical understanding of how to reduce barriers to accessing support, alongside familiarisation with current legislation
Insight into communication challenges across neurotypes in the workplace
Guidance on developing a neurodiversity-informed framework for your organisation
A focus on wellbeing for all
Day One
Led by a neurodivergent international expert, the first day will explore:
Evolving concepts in understanding neurodiversity—covering communication, emotions, strengths, and support needs, with a focus on organisational and leadership contexts
Key considerations for commonly co-occurring neurodivergences such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD, dyspraxia, and visual or hearing disabilities
Inclusive hiring practices for neurodivergent candidates
Best practices for working with people who experience the world differently, including the importance of sensory environments, autonomy, focused interests and routines
Harnessing the strengths of a neurodiverse workforce
Neurodiversity-informed smart management strategies, including effective remote management approaches
Day Two
Delivered through an experience-led approach by four neurodivergent international experts, the second day will delve into practical applications and interactive discussions on:
Communication dilemmas across neurotypes in the workplace
Navigating disagreement and addressing the double empathy problem
Understanding and mitigating the negative impacts of exclusion and stigma
Neuro-inclusive approaches to performance evaluation
Developing and embedding your own neurodiversity-informed framework in your organisation
Practising anti-oppressive, compassionate leadership
Supporting neurodivergent talent to thrive

This training is ideal for all staff who have responsibility for leadership and organisational development, management development, behaviour, and culture change. It is applicable primarily for service managers, team line managers and HR in any workplace across sectors.

Delegates will be asked to audit their work/organisation between the first day of training and come back to the second practical applications day with an audit of their practices and how these can be improved for neurodiverse staff.
