Dr. Orbach has been teaching and facilitating practice tutor groups on the Child Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) workforce development Programme in AFC/UCL, and since joining the DPCP course she has been involved in planning, coordinating and facilitating teaching on a number of DPCP modules. In her clinical role in CAMHS Dr. Orbach has set up and facilitated evening seminar series for professionals and parents around different topics related to child and adolescent mental health. Dr. Orbach has considerable experience and interest in supervision; she has trained as a CYP IAPT Supervisor and has been involved in the training and supervision of DClinPsych trainees, clinical and counselling psychologists and she has close links with Surrey University DClinPsych Programme. Dr Orbach has been involved in other clinical teaching and training sessions to GPs and medical professionals, such as providing training on risk management at annual GP training events.

During her early professional career Dr. Orbach was involved in research studies in a number of areas including psychosis and outcome measures. As part of her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DclinPsych) she developed an Internet-based intervention for exam anxiety and conducted a clinical trial to test the efficacy of the programme (see publications); using digital technology to support young people’s mental health remains one of her interests. In recent years Dr. Orbach’s focus has been on workforce and service development within CAMHS clinical settings; she has worked alongside Wandsworth CCG (clinical commissioning group) to develop a new CAMHS triage and assessment model, which was successfully implemented locally and has been evaluated and published in reports shared with commissioners and partner agencies. Dr. Orbach’s commitment to service development and innovation was acknowledged when she was nominated as Clinical Leader of the Year in 2019 by SWLSTG NHS Trust.

Dr. Orbach has over 20 years of clinical experience working in different roles with young people and families within NHS CAMHS settings. Dr Orbach’s experience includes conducting assessments and interventions with children and parents presenting with a wide variety of presentations such as low mood, anxiety, developmental trauma, risk, Neurodevelopmental conditions, parenting/family related difficulties, and working alongside multi agency teams to coordinate care and support for complex families. Dr. Orbach’s clinical interests include groupwork, parenting, attachment, trauma, CBT and its application to children and families, Mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). In addition, Dr. Orbach is interested in systemic practice and she has gained a post-doctoral diploma in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy.
