Child Outcomes Research Consortium (CORC)

CORC provides tools, training and expertise to help organisations to use data and evidence to measure the mental health outcomes of children and young people and improve their wellbeing.

What is CORC?

CORC stands for the Child Outcomes Research Consortium. It was established in 2002 as a membership body, helping professionals understand whether they are making a difference to the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

Today, through its membership offer, training programme, resources and commissioned services, CORC helps organisations to:

  • measure outcomes - collecting information from children, young people and families about how they're doing before, during and after support

  • make sense of the data - understanding what’s working well and where improvements are needed

  • improve their services - using evidence to become more effective and responsive

  • come together - sharing learning, research and good practice with others through events, training and the CORC network.

CORC members include mental health providers, education settings, cultural and community services, local authorities, professional bodies and research institutions across Europe and beyond.

CORC’s vision is for all children and young people’s wellbeing support to be informed by real-world evidence, so that every child can thrive.

Who does CORC help?

CORC supports organisations in the UK and internationally across health, education, the voluntary sector and government to strengthen mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people. Many organisations work with us by becoming CORC members. However, both CORC members and non-members can use our consultancy service to draw on ad-hoc support or project work.
