From Crisis to Kindness: Seminars for Mental Health Awareness Week

The Anna Freud Centre is hosting a free seminar series, 'From Crisis to Kindness', for Mental Health Awareness Week.

There’s been an outpouring of kindness – for support of NHS staff and other key workers – and concern for the health and financial wellbeing of our friends, families and neighbours. But how deep is this? Does this herald a new approach for society? And does it provide a new space to rethink our approach to children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing?

Next week is Mental Health Awareness Week (May 18-24) and its theme is kindness. To mark the week we are holding a series of three seminars chaired by Professor Peter Fonagy called From Crisis to Kindness. The seminars ask how we can bring together what we have learned in the last seven weeks and embed it in our future work.

The three From Crisis to Kindness seminars are as follows:

  • May 18: Perinatal care and early years – with Michelle Cree and Dr Camilla Rosan
  • May 19: The Pandemic, Mental Health and Education – with Margaret Mulholland and Dr Julie Greer
  • May 21: The Pandemic, Mental Health and Young People with Multiple Problems

The seminars are free and available to all. Please book to join. Details of how to join will be shared with registrants ahead of each seminar.
