I did enjoy the pace of the training, I especially found group exercises helpful. Being able to practice making presentations and then presenting them helped my confidence in my ability to disseminate learning from AMBIT.
AMBIT Local Facilitator Training
Are you passionate about improving helping systems for clients with multiple needs who may struggle to trust? Join our AMBIT Local Facilitator Training and gain the knowledge and confidence to deliver and facilitate AMBIT training within their organisation and wider networks.
About this training
AMBIT (Adaptive Mentalization Based Integrative Treatment) is a mentalization-based approach for teams and systems working with people who have multiple needs. AMBIT is used by teams who work in contexts characterised by complexity, high stress and risk, and who work with people of any age who may have reasons to find it difficult to trust in helping services
Our Local Facilitator Training (LFT) package offers in-depth training in AMBIT, uniquely equipping participants to deliver and facilitate AMBIT training within their organisation and wider networks.
Unlike other more prescriptive Train the Trainer courses, local facilitators are encouraged and supported to adapt training to their context. Ongoing supervision from the AMBIT Programme Team ensures effective post training implementation support.
This training is ideal for organisations aiming to embed AMBIT principles across services to build stronger, more purposeful client relationships, enhance team cohesion, foster continuous learning, improve collaboration with client networks. This is an alternate to our AMBIT whole team training.
On this public LFT training delivered over 5 days, you will learn alongside other international or UK participants. Some of the most common feedback we receive on this training is that attendees relish the opportunity to connect with a range of professionals/teams to share local practice and expertise with other professionals working with vulnerable, excluded, and underserved clients who have multiple needs and may have reasons to find it difficult to trust in helping services.
Alternatively, you can commission a bespoke version of this course which you can find further information about below.
Aims of this training
To develop a thorough understanding of the core AMBIT model and how to apply Mentalizing in client work, team support, and navigating complex helping networks.
To build skills for confidently facilitating AMBIT training locally, supported by post-training supervision and guidance from the AMBIT Programme Team.
To foster a culture of learning and adaptation within teams and systems, enabling the growth of AMBIT-influenced practice with fidelity and flexibility.
To ensure ongoing engagement through access to a Local Facilitator Community of Practice for continued support and development.
Who should attend?
This training is recommended for enthusiastic participants who feel confident about sharing AMBIT with others. It is especially useful for those in positions where they can influence others' practices - either through authority or trusted peer relationships who peers are open to learning from.
Teams that are already using the AMBIT framework and have colleagues with whom they can implement it may attend individually. However, for teams that are new to AMBIT, at least two members from the same team or system should attend, as co-facilitation is essential for delivering effective AMBIT training.
Sending staff on AMBIT local facilitator training can be a cost-effective and flexible approach to team training.
