DIT CPD Refresher Series: The Cautionary Tale
The first session of our new DIT CPD Refresher Series delves into The Cautionary Tale for qualified practitioners who want to revisit the topic and strengthen their skills.
About this training
Understanding and working with the anxieties raised in the cautionary tale
What are we looking for when we identify the cautionary tale? How can we use the cautionary tale to contain the patient and help them engage in the therapy? How can returning to cautionary material in the middle and ending phases help us make a deeper connection with our patients and manage the anxiety around ending, both for us and them?
This session is the first of four in a new series of two-hour refresher sessions for DIT practitioners. Individuals can purchase one session for £60, or package of all four sessions for £200.
Confirmed sessions in the series will provide a deep dive into the following topics:
The Cautionary Tale with Lucy Marks - 11th September 2026, 14:00 - 16:00
The Middle Phase with Saeed Khalilirad - 4th December 2026, 14:00 - 16:00
Diversity in DIT with Poul Rohleder - 18th June 2027, 10:00 - 12:00
There will also be one further session in Spring 2027, with the time, date and topic to be confirmed.

The DIT Refresher training is also suitable for those who are currently undergoing DIT practitioner training via the 5-Day or 20-Day training routes, but have been delayed in their progress and are in need a refresher.
The training builds on prior knowledge of the DIT model. It is a requirement for practitioners who have not started supervised DIT practice within six months of completing their training and need to refresh their knowledge of the model.
