Interpersonal Psychotherapy Training (IPT) Supervisor Refresher Day

Learn more about our Interpersonal Psychotherapy Training (IPT) Supervisor refresher day.

About this training

This one-day training day runs as an interactive workshop, with an extensive focus on attendees' current supervisory work with trainees seeking IPT in NHS Talking Therapies or generic IPT practitioner accreditation with IPTUK.

This training is entirely organised around practice questions posed in advance by attendees. There is no standard slide set, and each refresher is a response to the questions submitted by the group.

Supervisors must attend one refresher training between September and August each year to supervise Anna Freud trainees.

Aims of this training

The training day aims to provide a:

  • refresh knowledge of the IPT in NHS Talking Therapies practitioner accreditation protocol

  • review updated IPT supervision paperwork for all practitioner accreditation

  • review developments in the IPT practitioner and supervisor training courses and protocol

  • facilitate discussion of common issues in supervision, guided by attendees.

Who is this training for?

This day is aimed at all qualified IPT supervisors – while the model was originally developed in NHS Talking Therapies, it can be used by any IPT supervisor.
