SCM in Action: Working with Complex Clinical Situations

A skills-based training using clinical scenarios, role play, and guided practice to strengthen your delivery of Structured Clinical Management (SCM).

About this training

This is an opportunity to work with experienced clinicians to focus on applying Structured Clinical Management (SCM) in common clinical situations.

The training focuses on common high-risk clinical situations, including risk, self harm, crisis work, disengagement, and relational difficulties.

Rather than theory, the focus is on applying SCM in practice, including decision making, structure, and therapeutic stance in a number of difficult situations.

Aims of this training

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • apply SCM principles confidently in high-risk and complex clinical situations

  • make clear, structured clinical decisions under pressure

  • maintain therapeutic stance and consistency in challenging relational dynamics

  • respond effectively to self-harm, crisis presentations, and disengagement

  • navigate common team and service challenges when implementing SCM

  • reflect on and refine their own clinical practice through applied learning.

Who is this training for?

This training is designed for those who:

  • have previously completed SCM training

  • are currently using SCM in practice or working towards implementing it within their service

  • want to strengthen their skills through active, scenario based learning.
