About this event

This practical, skills-focused training explores the use of Structured Clinical Management (SCM) with older adults experiencing complex emotional and relational difficulties. The course covers adapting SCM for later life, managing risk and dependency, and maintaining therapeutic consistency within multidisciplinary teams. It is ideal for mental health and social care professionals seeking a clear, compassionate, and evidence-based framework for working with complexity in later life.

The training will be led by David Rawlinson and supported by three expert speakers: Professor Arjan Videler, a leading expert in psychotherapy for older adults and head of PersonaCura, a clinical centre of excellence for personality and developmental disorders; Dr Georgina Beldon, Principal Clinical Psychologist who has developed and led an SCM programme for older adults within community mental health teams; and Dr Leon Simpson, Principal Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience implementing SCM pathways and trauma-informed services across NHS trusts in London.
