DIT Supervisor Refresher

About this training

As trained DIT supervisors or supervisors-in-training, we offer what might be thought of as ‘nourishment’ to our supervisees. But what if we may be experienced as offering only persecution? And how much does this supervisory spectrum of nourishment-to-persecution relate to us as supervisors, to our supervisees, to the patient in the room, or to the setting in which the work is done?

In this workshop for DIT supervisors, we will share some of our experiences and polish up some of the psychodynamic tools in our DIT supervision toolkit.

This workshop will be delivered in person in a hybrid format to allow those who wish to attend at Anna Freud's London Office the opportunity for face to face networking. You will hear about future DIT work opportunities at AFC and how to get involved. Attendance on this workshop will fulfil the yearly CPD requirement for DIT supervisors.

Aims of this training

In broad terms, we will explore how we as DIT supervisors can best model a countertransference-led approach to supervision of this brief psychodynamic therapy. We will focus on areas of the DIT model that practitioners may find tricky, as is sometimes apparent from their case reports of DIT work.

For example, we may explore experiences of supervising the use of interpretations, the work done ‘within the moment,’ and dealing well with endings.

Who is this training for?
