Health and Justice Settings Training for Experts by Experience

The three-day course prepares Experts by Experience to co-deliver the NATP across health and justice settings alongside NATP-trained delegates.

About this training

Experts by Experience (EbEs) are those with relevant lived experience or a close family member of someone with relevant lived experience. This training will educate attendees on the National Autism Trainer Programme (NATP) course content which they will then co-deliver alongside a qualified NATP trainer in a health and justice setting.

Please note that specialist or high-level skills are not required to attend the course.

Aims of this training

  • To successfully train as an EbE to co-deliver the NATP course in a health and justice setting alongside an NATP NHS trainer.

  • To communicate the barriers experienced by autistic people in a health and justice environment.

  • To gain an understanding of the value of modelling collaborative, relational and person-centred values, and of promoting a balanced narrative about neurodiversity.

  • To practise how to facilitate delivery of slides and animations in settings with a NATP qualified co-trainer.
