The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families has developed and delivered pioneering mental health care for over 60 years. Our aim is to transform current mental health provision in the UK by improving the quality, accessibility and effectiveness of treatment. We believe that every child and their family should be at the heart of the care they receive, working in partnership with professionals. Due to the high volume of enquiries we receive about internships we are unable to respond to speculative applications and advise that you check our vacancies page regularly for available internships.
Applicants are advised to avoid using the Safari browser as this browser can cause technical issues when trying to enter employment/education history on the application form. Please use an alternative browser, e.g. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox. Update: there is a visual glitch on the application form's 'Confirm' page that makes it appear as though employment/education history is incomplete, when it is in fact complete and visible in full.
Please note: applicants are advised to avoid using special characters (e.g. &*%@^) in the application form since this will create error messages when attempting to save information. It is important to note that the Supporting Statement section of the application form has a character limit of 4000 (with spaces).
New update: there is currently a technical problem with the References section of the application form, where some candidates may not be able to save information, therefore cannot progress with submitting their application.
Applicants are also advised to complete the application form using a computer or laptop.
Please contact Recruitment@annafreud.org if you experience any problems with submitting your application.

Please note: we underwent an upgrade on our application portal in late 2019, which involved all existing applicant data being erased. If you applied before that time, you will need to re-enter your information.
