CYP Inpatient Settings Training for Experts by Experience
The three-day training equips potential Experts by Experience to co-deliver the NATP across children and young people inpatient settings alongside NATP-trained NHS delegates.
About this training
Experts by Experience (EbEs) are those with relevant lived experience or a close family member of someone with relevant lived experience. This training will educate attendees on the National Autism Trainer Programme (NATP) course content which they will then co-deliver alongside a qualified NATP trainer in a children and young people (CYP) inpatient mental health setting.
Please note that specialist or high-level skills are not required to attend the course.
Aims of this training
To successfully train as an EbE to co-deliver the NATP course in a CYP inpatient mental health setting alongside an NATP trainer;
To communicate the barriers experienced by autistic people in a CYP inpatient mental health environment;
To discuss examples of innovative relational and trauma informed approaches of working with, rather than on or for, autistic individuals;
To practise how to facilitate delivery of slides and animations in settings with a NATP qualified co-trainer.
