Virtual reality therapy courses

While this is a fairly new approach, virtual reality can be used in a therapeutic way, for those who have access to it. This could be through confronting fears or phobias in a safe, virtual setting and learning how to manage them. It could also involve becoming more comfortable in certain settings by practicing them virtually. It might just be an immersive, soothing environment to escape to if someone is feeling overwhelmed. Virtual reality is not something that is widely available yet, but it could become more common as technology improves.

There isn’t much academic research in the area of self-care for young people who are living with mental health issues. We are trying to find out more about what works for different people so we can better advise other young people what to try.
